Airbrush vs Spray Booth Tanning
The best tans are the ones that people don't notice. Nowadays, anyone can achieve a natural-looking tan within a matter of minutes. How? Through the power of sunless tanning!
We've come to realize that most people still think that spray booth tanning and airbrush tanning are the same thing. Both methods are more effective and much quicker than traditional tanning beds, and they are also healthier. Being UV-free options, the risk of accelerated skin aging or skin disease is not present (a MAJOR win in our books).
Let’s chat through the differences between airbrush tanning and spray booth tanning, and find out why we at Bronzier are #TeamAirbrush!
Airbrush Tanning
Airbrush tanning involves a session in which your artist selects the formula that works best for your skin tone and desired look. Airbrush methods can allow for extra customization by way of sweat proof solutions or color shades. Custom bronzing solutions are what we pride ourselves on at Bronzier - no two clients are the same, so why would their solutions be?
After creating your perfect shade of bronze, your artist then sprays the solution onto your skin by hand using an airbrush tanning gun. They will ensure an even tan to all areas of your body; no tan lines unless you want them! Airbrush also allows your artist to correct any mistakes easily by buffing any excess solution out, or going over a certain area one extra time. One of our favorite customizations to elevate your bronze is contour tanning, which helps your best assets stand out through a little extra definition!
Spray Booth Tanning
Spray booths involve customers standing in an automatic spray tanning booth (some which are fully enclosed…meaning you’re breathing in a lot of solution as these don’t get aired out) equipped with nozzles. These nozzles spray the tanning solution onto the customer, head-to-toe.
Spray booths tend to be trickier as you have to position yourself just right or the solution will not spray evenly across your body. Unlike that of airbrush tanning with an artist there to assist, you are left at the mercy of the machine; there is less customization available in terms of solutions and the solutions may or may not come out evenly on your skin. Simply put, this method is not as precise as airbrush tanning.
